President Chavez and overweight drug-crazed ex-soccer player will sponsor protest
Argentina Readies For Bush/Chavez Showdown
Boycotts, Demonstrations Await beleaguered Bush at Summit of Americas
Hugo Chavez will not meet George Bush face to face this week-end at the Summit of the Americas at Mar Del Plata City, Argentina. Instead he will be leading an anti-Bush gathering along with world famous Argentine soccer player Diego Maradona. Maradona has been living in Cuba as a personal friend of Fidel. He suffered a heart attack after a cocaine overdose in 2004. In March of 2005 he underwent liposuction surgery. Protest groups have been organizing for weeks and now the Buenos Aires Metro Subway workers are threatening to strike. A major sticking point with Argentina and other member countries of the trade alliance is the United States' refusal to budge on agricultural subsidies. eluniversal
