Venezuelan President Really Is Going To Try To Blow Up US
The Buenos Aires newspaper clarin revealed that Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez requested Argentina sell him a nuclear reactor last August. Apparently Chavez has also had dialogue with Iran about possible sales of nuclear know-how.
Argentine President Nestor Kirchner has a soft spot for Chavez since he bought millions in government bonds and provided much needed energy during Argentina's last economic crisis.
Argentine politicos do not want to anger the Bush Administration but at the same time understand the popularity of Chavez and of standing up to George W. Argentina has sold nuke-tec to Algeria, Australia, Egypt and Peru with Americas blessing. Argentine foreign minister Rafael Bielsa stated that any nuclear sale to Venezuela would be "with great responsibility" and also follow the agreements set forward by the International Atomic Energy Commission. The Summit of the Americas is scheduled to take place in Argentina November 4-5 with all the hemispheres other presidents on the dance card including Brother Bush and Senor Chavez.
