Uncle Shoots Nephew Trying to Scare Away Hiccups
Distraut Man Turns Gun on Himself After Shooting Relative

Bogota, Colombia --

An afternoon cocktail party went downhill when a man took out his pistola to scare the hiccups away from his nephew. The shooter was a security guard and said he would use the "home" remedy for hiccups by frightening his nephew. The gun accidently went off, the nephew was hit in the neck and then genius uncle shot himself. Both men are dead. There are at least two or three morals to this story.

Safer Cures for Hiccups:

By-pass the herbs (anise, fennel) and acupuncture treatments (unless of course you have these products in the cupboard). Swallow a teaspoon of white sugar with an air chaser. If you are at a partee or a cocktail lounge ask the barkeep for a slice of lemon/lime with some bitters to suck on.
