Pipeline Reversal: Crude To Be Pumped from Canada to Texas, Oklahoma

Crude oil that used to run up hill from the great oil producing states of Oklahoma and Texas will now be sluicing down hill from Alberta, Canada. Also, two competing companies, one of which is Kinder Morgan, have plans to build 1200 km pipelines west to the Pacific Coast to fulfill the needs of China and Japan and reduce Americas reliance on oil from the Middle East. Enbridge, the Canadian company, is in the process of enlarging existing pipelines to pump the oilsand crude to Chicago and St. Louis. The Alberta oilsands have been a source of crude for over 40 years. The jump in oil prices and a renewed drive in Washington on energy security have turned the Canadian fields into the oil industry's hottest prospect .caracas
