US Senate on Kobe Kow Krusade
Votes to ban imports of Kobe Beef
Kobe Bovine Posing After a Nice Sake Massage
The US Senate voted last week to ban the import of Kobe Beef until Tokyo lifts its ban on US beef. Kobe Beef are cattle that are given sake massages and feed on a diet enriched with brewskis. Called by many "the white meat" because of its heavy marbling, it is said to be low in cholesterol (of course). It also costs anywhere from $75 - $100 a lb. Japan has not imported any American beef for almost two years because of the mad cow scare in 2003. The US beef industry is losing 100 million dollars a month according to Ways and Means chairman Bill Thomas. One small problem may be that there are many ranchers in California and Texas that are now raising Kobe style beef. The cows are imported from Japan and raised, slaughtered and sold on the market in America or exported back to Japan. The Japanese are still ticked that the US didn't back their bid to secure a seat on the UN Security Council. I guess there's more than one way to cut off a bulls balls. Pass the Heinz 57 Mr. Koizumi ...Chet Tokyo
